‘‘Dun Eochaille”

Dun Eochaille means Dun of the yew tree. Ordnance survey name book explains it as ‘Dun of the Oakwood’.

In 1834 an application was made by the Parish Priest for a school to be built in the chapel yard. A new school was erected in Garryshane, Donohill in 1960. The church is at the right hand side of the school. A new extension to the school was added opened on the 17th of June 2007.

Donohill National School is a primary school in the parish of Anacarty and Donohill. Donohill N.S. is a Catholic ethos school for boys and girls located in the village of Donohill approximately 5 miles from Tipperary town.
