Our chess team at the Ficheall Tournament

We went to the Ficheall (chess tournament) on Tuesday the 5th of March. It was on in Cappawhite community hall. We were there from 9:15 to 13:50. There were 160 pupils there separated into 14 teams. There were two tournaments, masters and Buds.
We practiced really hard. We went to Bansha school for a chess match. We played schools online on lichess. Ms O’Neill had an after school chess club. We played every day leading up to the tournament. Our school came in 4th place. We got a certificate. This was an amazing result because our school is so small.
Pancake Tuesday
Even though the school was closed for midterm on Pancake Tuesday this year, Ms White’s class still managed to squeeze in some celebrations! They made pancakes and topped them with cream, nutella, golden syrup and berries - yum!
The student council also ran a ‘Perfect Pancake’ competition leading up to pancake Tuesday. All the students designed delicious pancakes and the winner won a pancake making kit.
Easter Fun
On the day of the Easter Holidays we were very busy. The children took part in an Easter hunt, using their map reading skills to earn their eggs. We hosted a bake sale and coffee morning in aid of Children’s health Ireland and the Dillon Quirke Foundation. The parents association also held a raffle. A great morning of fun and yummy treats was enjoyed by all.

Farewell 6th Class 2022
Saying goodbye is never easy. Saying goodbye to the 6th class of 2022 was especially difficult. What a wonderful bunch. We wish them all the very best in Secondary School and will miss them greatly.

Tessellation
Trying to mix Maths and printing in Art today! Tessellation of shape when paint is involved is not easy..but we had lots of success!
Slime making
Today we made slime for our science experiment. This activity was messily enjoyed by all.
Halloween fun
We had a very fun and spooky last day of term. The senior room made Halloween games for the whole school. We all enjoyed partaking in the fun. Our school staff really got into the spooky spirit too….
Library scarecrow competition
Over the past few days we have been busy making our plant pot scarecrows for Tipperary town library. Great fun was had by all.
